What is the Charter?
The Charter for Children and Young People is a list of twenty aspirational conditions that all children and young people should have to be safe, happy and well.
The Charter guides the South Australian Government to make decisions that affect children and young people.
Children and young people helped shape the Charter and it reflects what’s important to them – things like having a good home life, being listened to, respected and valued.
Best of all, because the Charter is protected by law, adults must pay attention to it.
Charter Patron
Her Excellency, the Honourable Frances Adamson AC, Governor of South Australia is the Charter Patron.
